Anthony T. Thompson Investigative Consulting and Training, LLC aims to provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) review, feedback, and presentation of Special Victims Unit (SVU) related incidents, investigations, and interviews. The emphasis of my work is to provide services regarding Crimes against Persons, Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth, Child Abuse & Exploitation, Family Violence, and Domestic Violence involving Strangulation. My goals are to provide my clients with an unbiased and trustworthy finished product and ensure all involved parties are treated fairly, with dignity, and respect. My Christ-centered approach makes integrity and reliability my strongest attributes. CASE REVIEW
RECORDED INTERVIEW AND/OR SWORN STATEMENT REVIEW
I can review investigative case files to ensure all policies, procedures, and industry standards were adhered to. My reviews will also ensure all investigative leads were identified, pursued, and sufficiently provided to the decision makers (investigative supervisors, attorneys, judges, etc.). An expert report will document the integrity of the investigation, the results of the pursued investigative activity, and the identification of unidentified and/or unpursued investigative activity, if applicable. The expert report will also include any applicable recommendations to improve your agency’s investigative efforts and policy and procedures updates.
I can review and conduct an analysis of all recorded interviews and/or sworn statements to ensure the proper interviewer techniques and question types were utilized. My reviews will also ensure the information obtained was provided by the interviewee and not by the interviewer. An expert report will document the best practices of the interviewer, the interviewer practices that did not meet industry standards, an analysis of the question types utilized by the interviewer, and the results of those question types. The expert report will also include any applicable recommendations to improve your agency’s interviewing efforts and policy and procedure updates.

TRIAL PREPARATION/EXPERT WITNESS TESTIMONY
I can conduct an evaluation of your agency’s SVU investigative division as well as your first responders’ SVU response and incident reports. This evaluation will consist of neutral and unbiased feedback, identification of successes and errors, and strategy discussion that are designed to ensure your personnel are proficient in their job duties along with maintaining and/or improving their job skills.
I can assist with the development of effective courtroom strategies to improve your chance of success during legal proceedings. Based on my specialized knowledge, skills, education, and
experience, I can also provide my expertise during legal proceedings to assist the court with understanding the dynamics of sexual and family violence.
